08.04.23 - Brooklyn, New York
Brooklyn is in the midst of a decades-long transformation. Once considered a warehouse district, it now contains some of the coolest neighborhoods in America. One such neighborhood is Greenpoint. Nestled snuggly along the East River, its views of Manhattan are stunning. The Greenpoint Film Festival transformed a series of Brooklyn warehouses into a first-rate courtyard and theater extravaganza. The audience was treated to a wide-screen, surround-sound presentation of The Artist & the Astronaut.
The staff and committee for the festival couldn’t have been more welcoming. And after a boisterous and informative question and answer session following the film, the audience spilled into the courtyard for further discussion. Bill Muench greeted old friends and past students, while Todd Hobin enjoyed reminiscing with Bob Christianson. Christianson is an Emmy award-winning composer with too many credits to mention here, from Sex in the City to A Christmas Carol. He is currently working on a new Broadway musical, Grail.
At the conclusion of this year’s festival, the organizers said they would be happy to invite our crew back to view our next project.
