The keynote address for the Central NY Council for Social Studies Professional Development Day was delivered by Bill Muench with special guest Todd Hobin. The director of the film, The Artist & the Astronaut, began his remarks by noting that he was a teacher for over three decades. He then introduced composer, Todd Hobin, also a teacher. Their presentation featured twenty minutes of the film along with comments about teaching history. Of interest to the early morning audience was how they could use the film in their own classrooms. There were also many questions about the making of this award-winning film.
All agreed it was a unique and entertaining start to a day packed with development and training.
